A Message from Banafsheh

Dear Friends,

Banafsheh Akhlaghi

I hope this letter finds you well.

After careful review and long deliberation, I have decided to discontinue my campaign for Congress.

Being new to politics has its advantages but also its disadvantages. I do not feel we have enough time to mount the campaign we need to win in a district as large as this one. I’d rather make this decision now, rather than coming to this conclusion in three or four months.

This path at this time is not the best way for me to advocate for the issues we care about so deeply.

Thanks to you, this has been an enriching experience and I believe we made a difference in our short time in this race. It’s clear that voters of the 2nd Congressional District want someone who is not going to play Washington, DC partisan games but instead will put the people first above all else.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for your involvement in the campaign. Your encouragement and support were instrumental in our efforts. Thank you for your financial contribution as well.

We don’t want to lose the momentum we have built through this campaign. Our message resonated with people so our advocacy will continue. We will be recording podcasts and utilizing social media and other tools to get the word out. I will keep you informed of our activities and I hope you will continue to be a part of them. We will be in touch.

Once again, with all my heart, I appreciate your support and look forward to our next endeavor.

Best Regards,

Banafsheh Akhlaghi
